Getting your Flying License
It is a dream of many throughout their lives to want to fly, it is a dream which is accomplished by very few but in reality and especially in todays economy learning to fly and obtaining your Flying License is relatively easy to accomplish. Whether you would like to just fly for recreation and the joy of it, believe me once you have been bitten by the flying bug it is very difficult to get rid of. It is like an addiction in which you can’t get enough of. Or alternatively you may be looking to fly as a carrer in a chosen aspect of aviation.
Choosing your Career Path
There are numerous commercial options once you have achieved your commercial Flying License to choose from depending on your own desires. I say desires as many pilots have different paths that they wish to follow, certain paths which interest and excite them compared to others. For example for some they might find airline flying too boring, comparing it to a glorified bus driver. and may prefer the excitement of agricultural flying where low level flying and steep 45 degree bank turns turns are required when spraying the crops in the field. For those who have knack or interest in teaching there is always demand for flight instructors. Having done this myself for many years I can assure you that it is an extremely gratifying job. it would seem however that the majority of people who obtain their flying license aspire to become an airline pilot, there is a sense of glory associated with this job and it does tend to pay a little more than other jobs in aviation. This is a very rewarding career and the ability to ascend to training and checking Captains is always a rewarding goal. There are of course many other forms of commercial Flying License available such as sea plane pilots, charter pilots business jet pilots etc.. However regardless of your choice you need to start by getting your PPL. private pilots license and progressing from that point.
